The Mushin Collection
Titled after a Zen Buddhist term meaning “no-mind,” this is a collection of experimental tracks inspired by Zen Koan practice. Each track is named after a real koan and seeks to evoke the specific flavor of each individual koan along with the nature of koan practice itself.
This is just one of many tracks to be released as a part of The Mushin Collection, and it is one of my favorites.
The Emperor asked the National Teacher,
“After you die, what will you need?”
The National Teacher replied,
“Build me a seamless tomb.”

Dissonance of Dogma
West Bank Arts Festival, 2018 Minneapolis, MN
A 360-degree audiovisual installation exploring the dialogue between religious spirituality and an increasingly technology-dependent modernity.
Featuring an original composition mixed for an immersive, constantly evolving experience as the viewer navigates the space around the space. At the center rests a battered wooden crucifix inscribed with symbols reflecting the tumultuous political and social climate.
The track, LAST AMEN, features two independent tracks - one using fully electronic instrumentation and the other fully orchestral - panned completely left and right respectively. The stereo speakers are placed facing away from each other in the exhibition so the act of moving through the space allows the viewer to “mix” the levels between them, thus enabling them to decide for themselves how to bring the old and the new into balance - if at all.
